Summer time means more time spent outside and more play time for children. Typically, these are good things that many families look forward to during the long winter months. However, when the playing takes place near roads and a child is injured, or worse killed, by a passing car then the carefree moments of summertime are quickly transformed into a nightmare.
Recently, the Harrisburg Police Chief reminded parents that if a child is hit by a car as a result of parental neglect then the parent could be charged with a crime. Of course, a driver who is negligent and hits a child could also be charged for an accident.
