When winning is the only option

Post Accident

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Hi, I’m Jon Ostroff. Thanks for clicking on OstroffLaw.com. You’ve clicked on the question about what you should do after an accident. I hope I can answer that. First, if you’ve been hurt, whether it’s a car, truck, bus crash, whether you were bitten by a dog, you fell on a property, no matter how you were hurt, the first thing you need to do is get medical care, and get it right away. It’s critical. Taking care of yourself medically is the first step to managing your injuries. It’s also the first step in managing your case. If you go to the doctor or the hospital, they’ll document your symptoms and your injuries. That helps your case, as well as you, medically. Remember, if you’ve been injured, and you’re pursuing a lawsuit, and hiring a lawyer, you and I have something to gain. I get a piece of what I get you, and you get a financial recovery. But the doctor has no financial stake in your outcome. So if they document what your symptoms are and what your injuries are, it doesn’t impact them, and they’re less biased in the view of a insurance adjuster, all the way through to a juror. It’s critical also, after you’ve been in an accident, to contact a lawyer as soon as you’re physically able. As soon as you’ve gotten to the doctor, hospital, gotten the care you need, even if you’re still in the hospital, you or someone in your family should get ahold of a lawyer to take care of you. Some of the most important evidence we get in your crash are gonna be obtained right after your crash. There’s several places on this site that I talk about this. If you look below, you can click on that tab, and that will help you understand the importance of taking care of your crash very quickly, and how important it is for us to get to the scene of your crash as soon as we can. We win more cases right after an accident than we do in front of a jury, by obtaining the evidence we need to win for you. In fact, if you think about crime scene, and why the police lock it down for 48 hours, that’s why, they wanna preserve evidence. We wanna get to the evidence before it disappears. And there’s many types of evidence, pictures, witnesses, getting to the scene to reconstruct a crash before the vehicles involved are repaired or destroyed. It’s really important, after the crash, to get the care you need, and once you do that, get the lawyer and the law firm that will take care of you. We’ll take care of you. I hope these questions that you have are answered. Thanks.
