Will You Get a Speeding Ticket for Driving too Fast in Pennsylvania?

Maybe not.  A recent study by the National Motorists Association found that Pennsylvania ranks 31st among the 50 states with regard to how likely you are to get ticket for driving over the speed limit.

Yet, don’t get too comfortable driving over the speed limit.    State police in Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties report a 39% increase in the number of tickets they issued over the July 4th weekend in 2010 as compared to the same holiday weekend in 2009.

Regardless of whether you are ticketed, speeding remains one of the main causes of serious and fatal Pennsylvania traffic accidents.  Therefore, speeding is not worth the risk regardless of whether you are likely to receive a ticket.  Instead, take the initiative to drive safely and responsibly so that you don’t hurt yourself or anyone else trying to get somewhere too quickly.
