Hydroxycut dietary supplements have been found to cause some serious health concerns including liver failure.  Liver failure is a severe disease that can carries with it some long-term consequences.  The most severe cases of liver failure cause the liver to shut down completely with no cure except for the patient to get a liver transplant.

The Liver is an organ that performs hundreds of important functions for the body. Many people think that because a product states that it uses natural ingredients that it is automatically safe.  In fact, some natural substances have been found to be unsafe and the affects of many different natural substances have not yet been determined. The FDA does not oversee dietary supplements since they do not fall under the categories of either foods or drugs. 

The FDA does get involved when there are reports of serious health related problems as a result of taking dietary supplements. In the case of Hydroxycut there have been dozens of reports of serious health incidents and one death directly related to Hydroxycut, which caused the FDA to review the product and issue a warning to the public.
